Our Partners

AFLCA

The Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification Association (AFLCA) was established in 1984 to provide training, evaluation and accreditation to group exercise leaders in Alberta. The AFLCA was the flagship organization in the National Fitness Leadership Alliance, ensuring a consistent standard of training and transferability across Canada.

The AFLCA is a part of the Provincial Fitness Unit of Alberta, a group of three not-for-profit organizations that provide standards and certification in group exercise leadership and one-on-one exercise consultation, as well as education and outreach programs to promote active living across Alberta. These organizations, supported by the Alberta Sport Recreation Parks and Wildlife Foundation and the University of Alberta, have been the sole provider of government sanctioned certification and accreditation in the Alberta fitness industry for twenty-six years. The AFLCA provides training, evaluation and accreditation for group exercise leaders and has a membership of approximately 1,800 members.

Alberta Milk and AFLCA working together

Alberta Milk dietitians in consultation with sports nutrition dietitians recently revised the nutrition and weight management section of the new 2010 AFLCA Exercise Theory manual. Alberta Milk has provided AFLCA with credible nutrition information since 1997.

Dairy Farmers of Canada

We acknowledge and are grateful to Dairy Farmers of Canada for the use of their recipes and for allowing us to adapt nutrition information from their website, Your Healthy Weight and Dairy Goodness.

Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) is a national non-profit organization representing Canada’s dairy producers. The registered dietitians at DFC are committed to translating the science of nutrition into innovative and accessible resources that support healthy eating habits. DFC also promotes the wholesome goodness and outstanding quality of products made from Canadian milk.

Alberta Milk dietitians are experts in nutrition and passionate about healthy eating.
